Spaced: A Character Primer

Netflix Instant recently made Spaced available, thereby making it easier for US fans to recommend the show to people. Trust me. I know. I’m a US fan who’s been trying to get my friends to watch this show for a few years now, often to no avail because of availability issues. For those of you who don’t know, Spaced was a brilliant British sitcom that had two series of seven episodes. The first came in 1999, and the second was in 2001. It was written by Jessica (Stevenson) Hynes and Simon Pegg, and was directed by Edgar Wright. And now that it’s available on Netflix Instant, you can get in on the fun. To  help you become acclimated to the show, I’ve created an infographic–a Spaced character primer.

  1. I saw this a few months back because my friend owned the box set. It is indeed howlingly hilarious. I would very much like to see it again now.

  2. ENGAGE! Man, I loved it, and good news it’s instant now because I will watch it again from the start. The only bad thing?…not enough episodes before it was all done 😦

  3. Thanks for the info! Always looking for something amusing to watch. I hear nothing but good things about this show.

  4. So you’re saying you don’t have to drive to my house this year so I can see it again?

  5. Brilliant to see it getting some well deserved Props over there!!

    Thanks for this John

    Where’s Colin!?!?!

    • Ha… I came so close to replying seriously to this. “He’s right there in the infographic!”… before I realized the joke, which was awesome.

Spaced is brilliant, as are Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Can’t wait for the third of the “Cornetto trilogy”.

You might also want to check out Black Books which stars Bill Bailey. Is quality.

  8. I love sitcoms! So it will be next in the tv shows I’m following!

Had never heard of it, just finished watching it. LOVED it and thanks for the recommendation.
