Harry Potter and the Half-Assed Photoshop Job

You probably haven’t heard, but a highly anticipated, low-budget indie film called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will be coming out this summer. You may have heard of the seven prequels, however. Since it’s gotten virtually no buzz since the first prequel was released during the Roosevelt administration, the fine folks who are marketing the film have decided to bludgeon the crap out of everyone with character posters. They just released eleven more posters, which can be seen here. As near as I can tell, that brings the total up to 18 posters. And they’ve included anyone and everyone who’s ever done anything in the first seven movies… except for one character. I’ve mocked up a quick version to correct the error. My mockup, and spoilers for the first seven movies, follow after the jump:

  1. Ahaha at least Dobby owns freaking Jar Jar Bink any day 😉

    • From Spaced:

Bilbo Bagshot: Kids like Jar Jar!
      Tim: Why?
Bilbo Bagshot: What about the Ewoks? They were rubbish! You don’t complain about them!
Tim: Yeah, but Jar Jar Binks makes the Ewoks look like… fucking Shaft!

  2. Poor Dobby, Bless his cotton socks!!

  3. The guy who met Kevin Meany

You mean bless his cotton sock. He only got one.

  4. Erin

There are technically 2 socks on the head stone:)

    • I figured two would give it more balance. If that poor little bastard can’t get a second sock in death, I don’t know when he can.

  5. Ooh, love the sarcasm(!) But you’re absolutely right, the new HP movie has gotten way too much buzz for any sequel, and it will probably be as beautifully-polished yet highly overrated as it’s countless predecessors. The posters and the line “it all ends” makes it look like everyone is going to die. *fingers crossed*

  6. Her Blondness

It’s just excessive. Those posters look super dramatic, he he. Maybe they could make those posters, like they do the cards that play music. You walk by the poster and it’s playing some dramatic Epic Score song. He he.
